In addition to weekly sailing activities, CSULBSA members are able to join in a number of special field trips and seasonal club events throughout the year.

Catalina / Spring Break
Our annual Spring Break sail to Catalina Island is not to be missed! We sail our Shields across San Pedro Bay to the island for 3-4 days of off-the-grid camping and relaxation. The most frequent activities are sailing (of course), dolphin/seal watching on the club’s SeaCraft, kayaking, snorkeling, hiking, and campfire food and fun.
Mission Bay, SD / After Finals
One of the club’s oldest traditions, each May we celebrate the end of the school year with a weekend in Mission Bay, San Diego. Club members load up our Hobie catamarans and Lasers and drive down to Campland On the Bay for four days of camping, sailing, barbecuing, and R&R in Campland’s jacuzzis.
Holiday Kayak + Naples Christmas Boat Parade
In December, we use our club powerboats to watch the Naples Island Holiday Boat Parade, which has been hosted for the last 68 years. December is also the time for our annual holiday party. Club members are invited to Leeway Sailing Center for a traditional “potluck” feast and kayak through the Christmas lights of the Naples canals.
